Hurricane Milton Deadline Extension

To our clients and friends, We hope that you and your loved ones remain safe during the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and Milton. Like so many, the Garcia & Carlson operations have been impacted by the storm. The office power and phones are still coming and going but should be restored soon. 2023 Extended Deadline: May 1st, 2025


Any individual, C corporation or tax-exempt organization that has a valid extension to file their calendar-year 2023 federal return has now been extended to May 1st, 2025 due to Hurricane Milton. The IRS noted, however, that payments on these returns are not eligible for the extra time because they were due last spring before the hurricane occurred




Hurricane Disaster Losses for Debby, Helene & Milton


If you and/or your business has suffered a loss as a result of Hurricane Debby, Helene or Milton, you may be able to recoup a portion of that loss through several different tax benefits available. Be sure to contact your insurance company. Individuals should also apply for FEMA assistance at www.DisasterAssistance.gov
